Social Media Trends

In a recent study by market research firm Chadwick Martin Baily on consumer trends between social media engagement and personal brand promotion /recommendation among peers, it was found that over 50% of Facebook fans and nearly 70% of Twitter followers said they were more likely to buy from brands they were fans/followers of.  Furthermore, the study demonstrated the trend that 60% of Facebook fans, and nearly 80% of Twitter followers, are more likely to recommend a brand since becoming a fan/follower in social media.  Consumers now see a brand or organization’s presence in social media as a mark of how modern and “with it” the brand is, and conversely, view an organization’s lack of presence in social media as a major sign of being outdated and out of touch with their customers.
